Toxik Application Engineer Ken LaRue will take you through 20 hours of training to make sure you know not only how to use all the tools in Toixk but more importantly is knowing how to use the program as efficiently as possible. Step by step you will learn how to composite in Toxik using all the amazing tools it offers. You'll start as a new user and end a master user. The following is a short explanation of the lessons.
Intro
to Toxik's UI and Workflow
First we focused on the
User Interface and the workflow in Toxik 2008. Toxik's workflow is very different
than other compositing, effect program and
understanding this is critical in taking full
advantage of Toxik's
toolset. What's the difference from a Library Browser and an Import Browser you'll learn this plus much more. From the custom preset task layouts to the gate UI we cover it all.
Intro to the Media Cache
Toxik uses a media cache to give you the ability to playback extremely large file and heavy composites. We cover not only the media cache but also intermediate results and how this feature can help you get the job done on time.
Versioning and Rendering
Toxik has a very unique versioning system with in the program, this allows you to experiment and create multiple version of you composite and access these versions through a linking process so artist can share versions or a individual artist can have many versions within on composite. You can also render any version and have multiple outputs to render a composite or a version to different formats and sizes.
Desktops, Hot Key Editor. Pick List
Toxik's UI offers many innovative was of working and controlling the artist experience while allow you to be as creative as you want to be. You'll learn all the benefits of the task UI.
Tools, tools and more tools
Every tool is discussed in great detail whether it is an utility tool such as a pass through or the extremely powerful Dust removal tool no tool is left out. Tools such as the Photo Lab tool for corrections and working with HDR images, the master Keyer from Flame, the Grain management, the tracker, the paint tools, pixel masking, motion vectors, time tools are covered and the list can go on and on. For a complete list of tools covered and the duration on the QuickTime movies click here.
Reaction and 3D compositing
The 3D compositing tool in Toxik is named Reaction. We spend over 2 hours alone in Reaction learning a not only how the 3D compositing works but also about the lights that can affect the diffuse, specular and ambient colors of even a flat image. You learn about the cameras, creating depth of field affect and motion blur. You'll be using footage mapped on Bi-Cubic surfaces and 3D geometry to alter and create your 3D composite. Environment maps and normal maps can also be used to create fantastic lighting affects. |
